What people usually ask

The surgery itself is painless. There can be mild discomfort for the first minute or two while the anesthesia is injected — after that you don't feel anything.

An early result is visible after just 12–14 days, once the scabs clear and your own hairs start showing. Full hair starts growing from month three or four, the amount builds up gradually, and you'll see the final result by month twelve.

Transplanted hair grows for life and doesn't fall out: the follicles are taken from an area that isn't sensitive to the hormone behind a thinning crown, and that property carries over to the new spot.

Contraindications fall into absolute and relative. Absolute: active cancer.

Relative: diabetes with poorly controlled blood sugar, hypertension that can't be brought down to normal, skin conditions, and active-phase autoimmune disease. The doctor determines the exact picture at a consultation.

Patients are usually met the day before surgery — for tests and a consultation. The surgery itself happens the next day.

Patients don't stay overnight at the clinic: we work with a hotel and put you up there the night of the surgery. The next day is a dressing check, and if everything looks fine, you can head home. If needed, the stay can be extended to 14 days to see the early result.

For patients in our city, the consultation is in person: we examine the donor and recipient areas, explain what we'll do and how, how many grafts you'll need, and sketch out the future hairline — what it will look like. We show comparable real cases from our own patients. Depending on the stage, we decide whether one session is enough or two are needed.

After the consultation the patient does bloodwork, we go over the results and every detail, and send them home to rest until the scheduled surgery day.
