Why People Choose Tashkent for a Hair Transplant

A few years ago, there was one answer to "where should I get a transplant" — Turkey. These days Tashkent comes up more and more, and it's not only about price. Here it is point by point, honestly, including where Uzbekistan doesn't win.

Price

FUE in Tashkent runs 12 to 20 million UZS — roughly $1,000 to $1,650 per procedure. Comparable work in Turkey costs $2,000–$5,000, and $5,000–$15,000 in Europe.

The method is the same, and the tools are the same, sold by the same manufacturers. The price gap comes from the cost of rent, salaries, and advertising, not from graft quality.

Who holds the instrument

This, in our view, is the main point — more important than price. At large high-volume clinics, the doctor draws the hairline and technicians handle graft extraction and implantation, sometimes several people with very different levels of experience. Such a clinic runs several surgeries in parallel per day.

Here, the doctor does the extraction and implantation himself. That limits how many surgeries happen per week, but the result depends on exactly that step: angle, depth, placement density — all decided by hand at the moment of implantation.

Language

Russian is widely spoken in Uzbekistan — at the clinic, the hotel, in taxis, at the bazaar. For a patient from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, or Belarus, that means being able to explain exactly what you want to the doctor, and understand the answer.

It sounds minor right up until you're in an unfamiliar clinic where the interpreter works for the clinic, not for you.

Wait times

Booking is usually a matter of weeks, not a three-month wait. The flight from Moscow is about four hours, from Almaty under two, with direct flights from most major CIS cities and several European destinations.

No visa is needed for CIS citizens, EU citizens, or UK citizens.

Where Uzbekistan doesn't win

Let's be honest: if scale matters to you — a marble lobby, ten staff on the floor — Turkish centers look more impressive. We work at a smaller, deliberate scale.

And one more thing: a transplant isn't an instant result. The first hairs shed after about a month — that's normal and expected. The real result shows at eight to twelve months. No clinic, in any country, can make that happen faster, and if someone promises otherwise, take it as a warning sign.
